It might prove beneficial for the government to bring together the various funding schemes it offers to the country's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to one organisation, which may interest the likes of UK contractors.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has suggested that this could help in the development of a single nationwide scheme, while also leading to a reduction in administrative costs.
However, the business group positively received the news that ministers are proposing to maintain some form of SME loan guarantee initiative.
Discussing the forthcoming emergency Budget, the deputy director general of the CBI, John Cridland, outlined some of the tax issues that the coalition will need to take into account.
He stated: "Any changes to capital gains tax must recognise the importance of incentives for wealth creators and the value of business investment."
Earlier this month, CBI director general Richard Lambert also noted that the government will need to come up with innovative ideas in order to change its current approach to business regulation.
