A number of the country's small businesses are likely to adopt a fairly lenient approach to the World Cup, new figures have suggested.
As many as 51 per cent of those queried in a recent Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) survey are planning to allow their employees to view certain games once the South African competition kicks off.
Firms who are in this position, which may include the likes of contractor companies, will require a TV license, the FSB's policy chairman Mike Cherry has warned.
He stated: "It is imperative that all those small firms that are going to let their staff watch the game are on the ball and ensure they are fully licensed."
The Fifa World Cup officially kicks off today, with the first fixture due to be contested between the host nation and Mexico.
England's first involvement in the tournament will be tomorrow (June 12th), with their opening group game against the USA.
