The country's smaller scale firms, which may include the likes of UK contractors, have been offered a number of tips regarding the forthcoming World Cup and how it might impact upon their operations.
Among the advice issued by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and Abbey Legal Protection, companies are being told about how they might want to consider the introduction of more flexible working hours during match days.
Meanwhile, when it comes to employee sick days which could relate to World Cup games, small businesses are encouraged to ensure that their staff have medical proof that they were actually ill.
The FSB's policy chairman Mike Cherry feels that a realistic approach needs to be adopted when addressing the World Cup.
He commented: "Employers need to be aware of the impact that unplanned absence could have ... [while] employees need to know that throwing a sickie rather than asking for time off could result in disciplinary procedures."
The Trades Union Congress has also recently noted that organisations may want to offer more flexible hours to their staff during the World Cup.
