Government proposals to review IR35 contractor taxation have been welcomed by one organisation.
According to the PCG, which aims to provide representation to UK contractors and freelancers, the coalition's plans to consider replacing the tax are positive.
The body's managing director John Brazier feels that scrapping IR35 could lead to the creation of a fairer system.
He commented: "We are delighted that the new coalition government made this commitment to review IR35 as a priority only days after taking power."
The expert went on to say that IR35 does not appear to have generated much revenue for HM Revenue and Customs in the recent past.
However, when it comes to the emotional impact of the tax, Mr Brazier added: "It has caused great heartache to many people."
In other news, the PCG recently confirmed that it is to form a new network for public relations freelancers with the Public Relations Consultants Association.
