PCG backs Budget's IR35 commitments

Plans contained in the emergency Budget to assess the future of IR35 have been given the backing of one freelancer organisation.

The coalition government's proposals to look at small business taxation issues such as IR35 have this week received the support of the PCG.

Meanwhile, the managing director of the contractor group, John Brazier, highlighted other Budget measures which he suggests could prove positive.

He stated: "The roadmap for corporation tax and the laying out of income tax changes over the course of the parliament are welcome and will help PCG members in their businesses."

The expert went on to say that chancellor George Osborne's emergency Budget was decisive, while offering an intelligent approach.

Earlier in June, the PCG confirmed that this year's National Freelancers Day is set to be held on November 23rd.

Freeing up Potential is due to be the key theme of the event, following 2009's discussion of the Future of Work.
