Freelance work offers people a rewarding experience, according to one expert.
This form of employment can also have a positive impact on the lifestyles of those UK workers who choose to adopt it, according to John Brazier of the contractor group PCG.
Mr Brazier, the organisation's managing director, commented: "Freelancing is a growing and valuable sector of the UK's economic community.
"More and more people see the potential of freelancing as a positive and rewarding choice for their work."
In relation to IR35 contractor taxation, Mr Brazier called on the government to introduce a more transparent system in place of the present one.
IR35 legislation is poorly thought out, the expert went on to say.
A small business tax review is expected to be launched by ministers in the near future, chancellor George Osborne's Budget recently suggested, with IR35 one of the areas that is likely to be up for discussion.
